"The Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) (formerly known as Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF) until 2009) is a major music award show that is held by Mnet Media annually in South Korea, involving the participation of some of the most well-known actors and singers. As one of the most important events for the Korean music industry, it has been attended by many famous and well-known bands such as TVXQ, SeeYa, Super Junior, Jewelry, Big Bang, SNSD, Wonder Girls, 2PM and other highly-rated artists active in Korea."

The show is broadcasted live in thirteen countries across Asia. In South Korea and Japan, it is broadcasted on Mnet. Other TV channels that have broadcasted the show include STAR World, tvN Asia, Channel V, Myx and Mnet America in the United States. The show is also broadcasted online from Mnet's website in South Korea, Sohu in China and AllKpop for the rest of the world.

Joining the list of musicians performing and appearing at the 2011 Mnet Asia Music Awards on 29 November 2011 are Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The duo will perform together in Asia for the very first time and it will also be their joint performance for the very first time in 11 years.

Dr. Dre was the production powerhouse behind artistes such as Eminem, Tupac and Snoop Dogg. He won the coveted Producer of the Year Award Grammy in 2000. Dr. Dre is also the founder and co-creator of Beats by Dr. Dre line of premium trendy looking headphones and speakers.

California native Snoop Dogg was first introduced to the world through Dr. Dre’s multi-platinum album, The Chronic. The Hip Hop performer’s first No. 1 album Doggystyle made him one of the popular celebrities of his genre. The 10-times Grammy-nominated rap mogul continues to break records. Snoop Dogg is the fourth most influential celebrity on Twitter. This December, Snoop Dogg will be releasing a soundtrack of the movie which he is appearing in, Mac and Devin Go to High School, with Wiz Khalifa.

Other Asian stars who will be gracing the 2011 MAMA include Japan’s top female singer Koda Kumi, Zhang Liang Ying, (China’s version of Mariah Carey), world-renown pianist Lang Lang and Singapore’s Dick Lee and Fann Wong.
