Why is Sara getting so much sponsorship?

Anticipating that people would ask that question, Sara helpfully answered it in her press release:

"Most of the sponsors she has today, are mainly her close friends, who wants to throw Sara an amazing birthday party. Some other sponsors, believe that she can help them to promote their brand well on her luxury blog, called The Singaporean Sisters (www.sgsisters.com). Some of them, would also like to tap into her strong network of contacts, to synergize and grow a stronger network."

Just WAH!. Mine 29 birthday only a cake and some tidbits.

So it always not fair on how some people can celebrate so big and expensive. Maybe if I married a rich girl I can get to do this.

It always sad to see people celebrate so big!

Wish maybe just a trip to Disneysea for my birthday....

Review : Godzilla (2014)

This summer’s schedule of big movie releases.  First , a Godzilla remake. Are you familiar with Godzilla?

Here a intro, Godzilla first hit the screens of Japan in 1954, an allegory to the nations fear of nuclear attack post Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Godzilla was a beast awakened and empowered by radiation with unstoppable atomic fire breath.
Godzilla was a primitive ferocious beast that lived under the sea, when his character changed over the years.  He became something of an anti-hero, saving the people of Japan and indeed the world from the attack of weird and wonderful beasts from earth and sometimes from outer space.  His sheer size meant that cities would crumble despite his good intentions.  It is never spelt out if he actually cares about people, but Earth is his home and he defends it whenever he needs to.

The 1998 American version was a disaster, so all eyes were on this to see if it will be the same fate. But it wa better.

Gareth Edwards’ 2014 remake of Godzilla is much better than the 1998 attempt, but it’s not without problems.

In real world history, the US carried out various nuclear tests in the Pacific Ocean from 1946 to 1962.  The photo below is a real photo of one of the tests. The surrounding islands still continue to suffer from radioactive contamination and since the 1990 Radiation Exposure Compensation Act, the US has paid out in the region of $759 million in compensation.  The movie uses these nuclear tests as the backdrop for its story, setting the stage that the nuclear bombs were in fact not tests but attempts to kill an ancient monster they had found, a beast so prehistoric that it even pre-dates the dinosaurs which roamed the earth some 66 million years ago.  They named this beast GODZILLA!

Ken Watanabe plays a scientist who has figured out that Godzilla harks from a time when radiation levels on earth were much higher.  Hence when dormant he sleeps deep in the earth closer to the cores higher radiation levels.  He figures big G is the top of the food chain and comes out when there is suitable pray for him to take note of or when his home turf, earth, is put at risk.  By this rationale, people are little more than ants to him.

Well, such a threat presents itself in the form of two giant cockroach like creatures labeled as M.U.T.Os – Massive Unidentified Terrestrial .

Bryan Cranston plays a nuclear plant supervisor seeking to uncover the truth about what happened to a plant he used to manage in Japan that was destroyed, whereas his son Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a military bombs expert residing in San Francisco with wife Elizabeth Olsen.  They get caught up in events as the monster showdown eventually comes to San Francisco.

In this movie the Godzilla all Godzilla fans have come to know but most say it fat..  He looks and sounds great and the CGI is outstanding.

Bryan Cranston and Ken Watanabe steal the show despite playing second fiddle to Aaron Tayor-Johnson’s lead character.

There rather crappy looking bad monsters, the lack of utilization of Bryan Cranston’s character and, surprisingly, the lack of Godzilla himself.

Godzilla looked great, he seemed unusually weak against his foes and before you know it, the final fight is over leaving you wanting more!

I also wished the monster scenes could have been done in bright daylight rather than in night scenes, which always makes things hard to see.

Although this movie seem better then 1998 version. It lack the japanese touch.
Maybe if they add the japanese element maybe it will be much better.

If you dont agree go watch and see for youself.....

A better life?

2 years ago. Life wasnt that great for me. Having a breakup. Lost my spirit to do all the things I really wanted to do.

But it seem that after 2 years nothing much changes. Getting bad to worse.

Thinking it will be a better relationship yet it wasnt mean to be. It just full of problems I never even I will ever encounter in my 27 years living. Why 27 cause of you add 2 it 29. So that why this 2 years not even wonderful. I feel lots is missing or gone.

I never ever imagine it will lead to this. Sometime i feel like God is testing me. It ask me to be stronger.

But how long I can be. Everyday the fear of knowing bad things gonna happen. Never ever a day pass without any good thing.

Trying hard to enjoy myself but yet it again happen.

I admit what life without problem. But cant only live with problems if not how to enjoy.

Sometime I wish I never have malay blood in me. I dont know why they hated so much of thier own till they sent supernatural to attack. Ut biggest sin you can ever have.

Why the harted feeling. It never bring you any good. It just more bad. Haiz..

My life if I write all down. Even 10 books will never be enough. The problem I encounter is like so tough even those who know will say how I manage to stay sane till now.

Can you imagine, one after another it happen. Not as if it has a full stop. I dont know what I done that I deserve this.

It not as if I want it to happen....

Haiz I dont know how long I can stay this strong.....

All I can do is pray and try to make it better.

Revie: The Amazing Spiderman 2

The second installment of this prematurely remade franchise.

Most fans will know that while there are Marvel movies made by Marvel themselves (Avengers, Iron Man, Cap America, Thor etc etc), there are also those Marvel movies made by other companies like Sony and Fox featuring Marvel characters.  The rights for these characters were sold to Sony & Fox way before there ever was a Marvel movie production house and Sony and Fox are not looking to give up these lucrative characters back to marvel.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is no exception to this.  Fox and Sony just seem to make up stories as they go along, doing pretty much whatever they want.  The big Marvel logo they paste on their posters and movie intros will lure in a lot of unsuspecting moviegoers expecting the next Avengers tie in.

All that aside, how does the movie fare?

Great visual effects, average storyline.

Peter Parker is still with Gwen, albeit haunted by images of her dead father and the promise he made her father that he would stop seeing Gwen just as he passed away.

Then there Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon, a nerd scientist stereotype.  With no friends or social skills, he’s almost invisible to the world until he is saved by non other than Spider-Man himself!  He quickly becomes Spider-Mans biggest fan!  Until, that is, a freak accident at his work place, Oscorp, turns him into Electro ( totally different from the comic on how he become electro). There also Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, son of Norman Osborn, the boss of Oscorp.  Harry, as we all know, is the Green Goblin.

And there Peter Parker’s quest to figure out what happened to his parents. There’s way too much going on in this movie

The whole back-story featuring Parker’s parents feels really unnecessary.  To be honest, even when the 'parents' story arc is completed there is no real revelation and it left me wondering what the point of even including it in the story was.  I really couldn’t care less about what happened to Parker’s parents.

Next we have Electro.  Now this is one amazingly stupid character.  He goes almost instantly from being Spider-Mans biggest fan to wanting Spider-Man dead.  The change in mentality is just too fast to be believable.  The Time Square action sequence, which has been paraded around so much in all the trailers, ends very easily and without any real consequence.  There never seems to be any real danger or threat to Spidey and there also appears to be no fallout from having some super villain destroy half the city.  Life in New York continues as if nothing happened as soon as the scene is over.

The story could easily have ended there; instead Green Goblin is thrown into the mix.

And then there Rhino, not worth mentioning as he’s not even really in the film and serves only to lead into the end credits. My fave character and this what they do to him.

The climax involving Spidey and best friend Harry, left me feeling surprisingly apathetic. It just does not have that feeling of a sad scenw

Some of you will argue that the new Amazing Spider-Man series is more faithful to the original comics.  I dont think so.  Where’s Mary Jane?  Gwen and Mary Jane are supposed to be best friends, though having heard who has been cast as Mary Jane (Shailene Woodley),  I glad her scenes were cut out.  Rhino is not supposed to be a mechanical beast. Electro was not formed by an accident at Oscorp.  Harry’s father was the Green Goblin first – but not in this version.  Fine, they got the electronic web-shooter thing right (though it was an omission I was happy with in the Toby Maguire movies) and they nailed Spidey’s more cocky and sarcastic tone, but like everything Sony and Fox do, pretty much everything else has been adjusted & fabricated.  Why must all bad things originate from Oscorp?  Just seems like strange and lazy writing.  And where’s Jonah Jameson??

Director Marc Webb clearly seems more at home when handling the more intimate human elements with the relationship of Gwen and Peter.

The special effects are amazing and Electro definitely looks awesome.  Thankfully this movie has some amazing point of view / first person scenes of Spidey swinging through New York City at break neck speeds.  These are the scenes that make the viewer wish they could be Spidey which were so lacking in the last movie.

At the end of the day the Spider-Man Toby series is still a better movie than The Amazing Spider-Man 2!

By the way Gwen Stacy die!
