News: Justin bieber breakup?
"The Belieber army can't take much more of this. Hours after Justin Bieber appeared on the "Today" show to deny claims that he'd fathered a child following a supposed bathroom-set encounter with a 20-year-old named Mariah Yeater, a report surfaced alleging girlfriend Selena Gomez, 19, had given him the heave-ho.
"Selena ended it abruptly," a source asserted to Radar Online. "His camp is in damage control mode and attempting to convince her to stick around in the relationship for a few more weeks, because they fear it will be seen as an admission that something indeed took place ... Justin has insisted to Selena that the woman's allegations are simply not true."
Fortunately, Bieber's beleaguered fans can stop soaking their favorite teddy bears with hot, angry tears, because camps for both stars moved quickly to deny the split rumblings, declaring that the PDA-disposed pair are still very much together.
"I'd just like to say, basically, that none of those allegations are true," Justin, 17, assured Matt Lauer on Friday as he denied ever meeting Yeater, who contends a backstage quickie with the popster resulted in her now 3-month-old son. "I know that I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim."
Bieber is slated to appear Sunday at the Gomez-hosted MTV Europe Music Awards in Belfast. And as we all breathe a big sigh of relief that Justena remains a go, how about we take a quick look back at some of their schmoopiest moments? Click on for more ..."
"Love. Is. Dead.
Selena Gomez dumped her boyfriend of eight months, Justin Bieber, in the wake of his shocking paternity scandal. (If you didn't know, 20-year-old Mariah Yeater says her 3-month-old son is the product of a quickie with Bieb. A very, very quickie.)
Radar reports that Selena ended things with Justin pretty suddenly. "Selena ended it abruptly," says their source. "She broke the news to Justin just in the past 24 hours."
There's no telling how Justin feels about the breakup, but his PR team is concerned that it won't look good for him if Selena walks away in the middle of a scandal. "His camp is in damage control mode and attempting to convince her to stick around in the relationship for a few more weeks, because they fear it will be seen as an admission that something indeed took place between Justin and the woman who is alleging that he's the father of her baby," the source says. "Justin has insisted to Selena that the woman's allegations are simply not true."
Justin is currently promoting his Christmas album, "Under the Mistletoe," so the allegations come at a particularly inconvenient time. On Friday morning, he stopped by the "Today" show to say his piece.
"I know I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim. It's crazy, every night after the show I've gone right from the stage right to my car, so it's crazy some people want to make up such false allegations. But to set the record straight, none of it is true," he told Matt Lauer. When asked if he knew Yeater, Bieber denied it. "Never met the woman," he said.
He was also asked whether Gomez was "freaked out" by the suit, to which he replied rather evasively. "I'm sure she is but she's got good people around her and she, she's always staying safe."
For his part, he's hoping that his fans focus on his record -- portions of proceeds for which are going to charity. "Judge me on this...my best album to date in my opinion. portions go to charity. let's blast it," he tweeted on Friday.
Bieb and Selena will reunite on Sunday, Nov. 6 for the MTV Europe Music Awards. Bieber is performing, while Selena will be hosting the evening. Awkward."
Real? Or faked?
