Pets on public transport

This issues has been talk about for very long in Singapore. There onece the    a guide dog was prevent from entering Forever 21 cause the salesgirl thought it was a pet. As guide dog is not commen seen in Singapore. So people tend to mistake it for pets.

There is article on Stomp (a website which  locals contribute by sending issues in Singapore), which this guy carrying his pet cat on the SMRT train. He use a harness similiar to carrying a baby instead of a cage or pet bag.

He was caught by a stomper who took his picture on the train and sent to stomp. The issue was publish on 29 January 2015. The accident or event occur on 28 January according to Stomp website article. 

He did break the law and should be fine. But the issue is how he manage to bring in and nobody say anything till it be posted on stomp.

If a proper way is carried, such as carry in a cage. Making sure it did not disturb anyone. No one will say anything.

But he carry it in a harness like baby.

Then there those pet lovers will say it ok to carry in a harness as long it never disturb people. But how you know it will not. It a animal, even you own kid is unpredictable too.

In his defense he said he ask permission and was allowed to carry in the harness. Then those who carry dogs why was told can't and it was harness and the dog keep still too. So it don't make sense at all. When here http://www.smrt.com.sg/RiderGuide/RulesEtiquettes/ItemsNotPermittedintheMRTNetwork.aspx say not permitted but why he allowed to carry that way.

I too a pet owner. I has 3 cats. If I bring them out to vet I put in cage or carrier which in bag that has holes for pets. Not carry on harness.

In the picture the man on his left look uncomfortable see his carry a cat. The lady on the right seem to be ok but maybe she just too tired so she choose not to create problem.

The harness look those use to carry babies. Those you carry i front of you. I know they do sell this at pet store. 

I think I will contact SMRT to see their reply to this issue!

Best to get them to reply why this is allowed on trains. 

Even hamster need put in cage and put in plastic bag the cage so people will not notice.

Honey Creme Ice cream

This is a very late post! Much like 1 week late!

If you follow me on Instagram you will saw that I went to Honey Creme ice cream last week. 

Current there only one outlet in Singapore which is at 313 somerset. It located at the shop previously occupy by Gong cha. As you all know gong cha has move to orchard central basement. It easy to go as it located right beside the taxi stand. Though if long queue some will be queue under the sun.

I went try after saw and heard a lot about this ice cream. It a soft ice cream which originate from Korea but Honey Creme is from Taiwan if I not wrong. A lot of different background on where the company is from.

On the day I went there not much queue as it was a monday and not lunch hour so queue was short.

Got my ice cream in less then 5 mins. On certain days of time queue may sneak all the way to i unshelter area of 313. It even may take 1-2 hours. Best is go during weekdays and avoid lunch hour.

Currently they have not much topping flavours. Current topping are cotton candy, popcorn, honey. If you prefer plain you can get plain too.

I decide to get popcorn. A generous amount of popcorn was given. They add caramel too. Those don't like too sweet I suggest get the plain or cotton candy. As the ice cream is sweet plus the popcorn and caramel it become too sweet.

Overall the taste is good though for price range $5-$8 for a cup of ice cream is expensive.

Llaollao seem better and has more choice of toppings as they have fruits which healthier in a sense.

Expose: Mediacorp reuse dress once again

Last week I was watching this show call Koji Cooks on mediacorp channel 5 at 930pm.

I notice something familiar!

The orange dress worth by Silver Ang. It look familiar really familiar. I try to recall when I see it before.

I remember it was on TV more then once. In fact more then 3 times. 

I began to recall the first time I saw it was actually a ad by toggle to promote toggle. I remember it was a gym scene. Which the guy was on threadmill running and watching a toggle drama on his phone but it look like as if it live infront of him. Priscilla chan if I not wrong, wear the dress that time. She was so call a third party.

Then after a while I saw it again on TV. This time in a comedy. Staring Mark Lee. I can't recall the title but I remember it about house agent. And the old man and his mistress wanted buy a house and he end up in the hospital. She the mistress wore the dress too. 

I know I saw the dress again a few times just can't recall where. 

Then they reuse it once again

The dress do look nice and sexy as it tight fit but the colour make me remember it been use more then twice. Very rare or never a TV channel use clothes that has been wear before again and again.

This show the TV show has no clothes sponsor that they had to reuse a dress that been reuse a lot of times.

But Silver Ang do look good in it but her character make the dress look slutty. As I recall almost all the character who wear the dress is either a mistress or third party girl. Hmmmm

Maybe it a seduction dress. But it is orange! Bright orange!! I don't think it suitable. 

Talking about Koji Cooks the show. It just not that good. Not funny too.

Leggings, is it ok to wear as pants?

I blog once on leggings is not mean to wear as pants. I not really against wearing leggings as pants. If wear in stylist way it is okie to wear as pants

Me too start wearing leggings as often as I can. Leggings is comfortable and easy to wear.

Here come the problem. How to make it stylish and not like you are lazy.

Usually I see girls wear it with a tshirt and slippers or flip flops. You should not ever wear slippers or flip flops with leggings. It look like you stick legs. And those who wear tshirt that not crop or long type, those normal which ends just where you butt is. It just a big no no. It look sexy to show that butt but people tend to focus on your butt the moment they see your back.

I not sure why I see girls will always wear like that. That why magazine and newspaper and even online fashion website advise wearing leggings.

But you can wear leggings. After reading and going through magazines and website there lots of ways to match leggings.

Before we start buying leggings. We need to know there lots of type.

Usually there those black cotton type. Which is long up to the ankle. This type can easily find at cotton on, H&M even at those pasar malam or heartland fashion shops. The quality depend on where you bought it. Those which cost more are better in quality. I recommend buy at Topshop or h&m which is around $30-40 even though it is expensive it better to spend a bit more to get something that can last longer. There also those stirrup which all way to the feet. It more of the 80s style. It good to wear if you hate your leggings keep moving up your legs.

Here the problem I saw, many can't see the difference between leggings and footless tights. Leggings are not translucent. Footless tights is translucent though there opaque ones but still it tights and not suppose wear on it own. I saw girls wore it and thier undies can be seen. Not sexy at all!

Next there 3/4 type. It the same as the long one. Just it 3/4 and ends just below the knee or between the calf. This type has more colours. There usually grey, white, black and even others bright colours. 

Both this type leggings is best to wear with long top or mini dress. It like for modesty as if wear mini dress some may not comfortable to wear too short. If long top like long tshirt that up to the half thigh. 

But I do see they wear crop top but they wore high cut shoes or boots. Never wear it with those slip on shoes it just look tacky!

There also those wet look or leather leggings. It look like you wearing leather pants but it is leggings. The wet look is more shiny then leather. Usually it made of PVC so it not real leather.

This type is usually very popular. Lots like to wear as it easy to match. Can wear with long sleeve shirt and boots to get that rocker chick look. Some match it with a sexy top and knee length boots or even normal heels. Even celebrities wore it.

This style is my favorite. I have 2 pair. I like those which mix leather(PVC) with cotton like those found at cotton on. But I can't find it anymore. Guess they changed the style. 

This leggings can be found at Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, forever 21 and many more shops. It even can be found at Bugis street but the one at bugis street is not good quality so do check the quality before buying.

There also those Lycra type. Like the galaxy leggings which I love! I have 2 pairs of it! It multi function can be use for yoga or gym too. Usually wear it with a tank top or long tshirt and high cut shoes. 

If you notice I keep mentioning high cut shoes. This cause this type of shoes are suitable for leggings. If others type of shoes you need to carry the style if you want to wear it. 

NEVER EVER WEAR with flip flops. It look as if you are lazy. No matter what type it is wrong!

By now you will ask me then how about jeggings. Jeggings is like jeans but it more of leggings. It look like jeans but it actually leggings. Some even has real front pocket. 

Jeggings is ok to wear with all kinds of top or shoes. As it look like jeans no problem even if wear normal sneakers but don't wear sports shoes or flip flops. 

Flip flops are for the beach!!

There few leggings is a big no no to wear even it look nice. Those kinds which has patterns on it. The kinds auntie wear. Which has flowers patter or worse look like jeans but not jegging!

That is certainly not for wearing at all!!

Wearing bold colours is still Okie but if wear those aunties type is never Okie. This type usually heartland shop or pasar malam sell. Avoid at all course of thinking buying it!

Those big size wearing leggings can be a challenge. To avoid attention at the wrong area. I not an expert so I will not comment of big size. Also may cause some unhappiness.

Back to leggings.

Overall it ok to wear as pants. Just must know how to style. Wearing leggings is no longer see as wrong but it becoming a fashion trend!

There even leggings for men call meggings. A lot may disagree of men wear but to me both sexes can wear leggings. It how you style is important. 

Do Google or read magazine on how to style you leggings!!

Lowry Farm closing all it Singapore stores by Feb 18

After three years in the Singapore,  fashion brand Lowrys Farm is closing down in Singapore 

The label's will close by Feb 18, eve of Chinese New Year.

Global Work, which has one outlet in Westgate mall in Jurong East will close too.

"The reason why we are closing our stores in Singapore is... we can't make enough sales because of climate difference and fashion taste," Adastria spokesman Mika Takano from Japan

It is closing only its Singapore stores. Lowrys Farm and Global Work carry casual wear - items such as long skirts, loose-fitting tops, cardigans and scarfs - targeted at young working adults. Their merchandise is often in pastel colours or has floral prints.

The staff said they were told about two months ago that they were going to lose their jobs

Lowrys Farm opened to much fanfare in Singapore in March 2012 and Global Work opened in December 2013. 

Global Work outlet at Westgate Having  a "Farewell Sale" with discounts of up to 50 per cent was on. Similar sales were held at the Lowrys Farm outlets.

This will not be the first Japanese company that has failed in Singapore.

Japanese skincare brand Fancl and Japanese lifestyle store Francfranc too closed it singapore stores last year

The brands are targeting young adults, a market flooded with new international entrants like H&M and Forever 21

The youth also shop online, so the brands were hit by online competition as well.

Lowrys Farm is pricier than H&M, so youth don't buy from them, but working adults want something more formal.

Japanese clothes sizes tend to have one size which local can't fit as the one size style is suited for japanese cutting.

Unlike uniqlo which has multiple sizes. This type of japanese brand has only one size fit all.

Sad to see it close. One by one Japanese brand decide to close in Singapore. Hope jrunway in plaza singapura still open in the future.

The Xiaxue vs Gushcloud saga continue

After googling I saw a blog by a group by the name of SMRT (feedback) exposing Xiaxue and Nuffnang

SMRT (feedback) is a group that is a satirical page.

They had a blog post exposing Xiaxue and nuffnang. This was after Xiaxue exposed Gushcloud.

It was posted on 31 December 2014. 

The next day Xiaxue reply the blog post which is 1 January 2015. New year day.

After looking at the shoes, I may just get one for myself . It just too tempting not to get one. The design are all so nice. And further more it is jelly shoes. How to resist right!

Review - The Swimmers

This review is kinda late as the movie was out in cinema 5 months ago. But the Dvd just been release.

It a thai horror movie about 3 high school students who in the swim team. Perth and Tan are best friend who in the same swim team. They always train together. Ice who is Tan girlfriend will always there to support them. Perth in secret is in love with Ice. Ice who can't swim ask Perth to teach her to swim since he always training at the pool. They fall in love and Ice decide to break off with Perth. Perth wasn't happy and a argument occur which cause Ice to commit sucide but then there more then meet the eye. Watch it to know what happen.

The story actually more of back and forth type of movie. Telling how the whole event took place. 

There few scene which is kinda scary. Making you think twice of doing things that are not suppose too.

The ending is tragic but it doesn't have a closure you wish it does. Like the part where Tan knew something but yet he still not sure if he should do it.

The tittle "the swimmers" is actually not the swimming team but it actually mean as the sperm which swim and pregnant a egg. It also teachers us wear protection to be safe.

The movie has english sub so easy to understand. Do watch it soon before it taken down again. 

Overall I like the movie. This my 2nd time watching it. After working at Spooktacular which has a hunted trail based on the movie. I want to rewatch and see which part of the trail are based on the movie scene. 

To me there some are based and some are just plain clueless on why is it there. 

Anyway go watch the movie even if you never go to Spooktacular. A good movie to watch even though not a great one.

School reopens

Today is the beginning of a brand new school year. Seeing the children going to school remind me of my time in school.

It was 23 years ago since I was in primary 1. Going to school back then was something we all look forward too. It was fun going to primary 1. Though frightening it was a time we get to learn new things.

It all changes as we enter primary 3, there was the time we need to make sure  we study hard so we can go further.

I always don't like to go school after I enter secondary school. Drag myself everyday just to go to school. I always the slowest in class. I not that clever. Those who know me will say you in top class. Yes but I the slowest among the top. I stuck in between the clever and the slow learners. I never say they are stupid but they learn at different pace then us. T

I always got look down as no one will help me. The teachers always goes to the clever or those need help.

I was left all alone by myself to learn. I nearly give up studying until I meet this teacher. Ms Lee was a good teacher.  I can't forget how she help me to get through my o level. I go through so many things in life that I just have no more hope in life.

Everyday whenever I have time I will chat to her. She help me a lot. If not her I can't get through pass o levels . 

Teachers don't just teach. They are a mentor, a counselor and even a friend. They help us to learn and much more.

I use to it think teachers only teach but after entering secondary school it open up my eyes. 

Whenever I passby a school I will look at the school and reminder those years in school. Having fun learning, those fighting , those naughty time and the success and failure in exam or test.

I really miss school. School was time in your life that a chance you get to enjoy. Once work life starts little time left to enjoy. 

That why I always say let the children learn don't keep enforce them be no 1. Enjoy study don't be like me. End up doing a job just to get by. Not something I love to do.

Review - Demi Adriana - Telemovie

It very rare that a local malay novel been turn into a movie. This time mediacorp suria decide to make a telemovie out of a novel by Hafeez Glamour.

Hafeez Glamour is a radio DJ at Ria 89.7fm. This is his first time writing a novel.

To tell the truth I have not read the book. I just read the synopsis of the book only. It look interesting enough to get the book and read it.

Back to the telemovie, it uses local actors  as the main stars. To me they make a mistake casting the lead actor and actress. The lead actor is play by Singapore first idol winner Taufik Batisah. He seem needed help in the acting department. His expression kinda doesn't portray well on TV. For the lead actress I have no words! Seriously what were they thinking of casting her. 

The supporting cast is not bad but the guy who play the lead actor love rival don't have that charisma that require him to be the one who gonna steal the girl heart.

It a 1.5 hrs telemovie plus commercial . So it kinda too short to get into the main story. They straight go to the main story the moment it start. So there lots of missing parts in the story. The build up is not there and end up no one really know why he and her break off. It just too fast that end up the whole story is just missing the feel.

Big box at Jurong East

A brand new mall has open in Jurong West. It called Big Box. The concept is different from normal mall. It has everything you need under one roof. Means all item is sell in the same area though it made up of different brands and company.

The mall  is join with the other two mall by bridges call jwalk. It connect easily to all 3 malls in Jurong east central.

This the jwalk entrance bridge. It connected to Jem mall. It located near H&M.

The item sold at the mall are discounted and cheaper then at other suburban mall.

Shopping time 

Goodbye 2014

I kinda reluctant to write this blog post. There 1001 reason why I reluctant to write.

But if I didn't write it I feel I never let it out of me.

Here goes!

2014 has been a up and down for me. Experience tragedy, things around me not going to plan. My resolution gone into pieces.

First of all I really wanted to study for another diploma but in the end it didn't happen as I didn't get the course I wanted. I really want to broaden my qualification but it didn't happen.

Then my handphone decide to die on me  twice! Yes twice! Once the whole phone breakdown! The second time was after 2 days of buying it. I drop it and it crack and end up didn't work at all. I end up borrowing a spare phone. 

Then money I save up to go holiday or just a stay cation was gone to pay debt not cause by me. A asshole cheat my family end up I have to pay the debt.

I apply for a few new jobs. None but 1 reply and they give me store men job! I have a education yet I received this kind of offers. I don't look down on store men but it not a job I do good at it. I want get a job I love doing and it will last long time.

Then I get few comments that not necessary. I know I don't have a great sense of english but don't go around commenting I wasted my education. Some blog post was written in a hurry or in a way easy to understand but yet I was scolded. I guest some people just like to bring people down. Lucky for me I choose to ignore. I even modified back my blog post. Guess even I wrote in perfect english still those not happy! Can't please everyone I guess!

Though there bad things happening, there few good things worth mentioning. As you all know I join spooktacular asa scare talent. It was fun. Thanks to this guy who introduced me to Cassandra who is the incharge. Was a nice lady. She take care her talent very well. From what I hear she has a hard time working with Sentosa. You know internship you can't choose and can't quit. So it never easy! I go through it and I regreted choosing the course. It like a torture to go through it every day. You try imagine seeing your enemy and has to work with him everyday. That how it feel!

I manage to save up to get things I wanted for some time. Though not a phone . I feel please I get to buy it. Even though what I wanted is sold out but still i get a different one.

For now I looking forward to 2015.

Brand new year. Brand new things to look forward too. 

2014 was full of tragedy too. 3 plane crash, a big flood, shooting which innocent died. So much bad things happens.

Though it a tragedy which we can't predict or wish it didn't happen. We take it as a lesson. Enjoy life. Don't be sad, be positive!
