Tv Drama : Once upon a time

I fall in love with this series the firsr time i watch it. It currently in season 3 but on mediacorp channel 5 it only 2nd season due to contract and also it free to air.

Anyway it has a spin off which is once upon a time in wonderland.

SERIES OVERVIEW

The series takes place in the fictional seaside town of Storybrooke, Maine, in which the residents are actually characters from variousfairy tales that were transported to the "real world" town and robbed of their real memories by the Evil Queen Regina (Lana Parrilla), using a powerful curse obtained from Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle). The residents of Storybrooke have lived an unchanging existence for 28 years, unaware of their own lack of aging. The town's only hope lies with a bail bonds-person andbounty hunter named Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), the daughter of Snow White(Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming(Josh Dallas), who was transported from the fairy tale world before she could be cursed. As such, she is the only person who can break the curse and restore the characters' lost memories. She is aided by her son, Henry (Jared S. Gilmore), with whom she has recently reunited after giving him up for adoption upon his birth, and his book of fairy tales which holds the key to ending the curse. Henry is also the adopted son of Regina, who is the mayor of Storybrooke, providing a source of conflict between the two women.Each episode focuses on a character back story. One segment details the character's past life that, when serialized, adds a piece to the puzzle about the primary and/or secondary characters and their connection to the events that preceded the curse and its consequences. The other, set in the present day, follows a similar pattern with a different outcome but also offers similar insights. In addition, another storyline follows the results of what had happened after the curse took place and after it was broken.

The first season of Once Upon a Timepremiered on October 23, 2011. The season begins with the Evil Queen interrupting the wedding of Snow White and Prince Charming to announce that she will cast a curse on everyone that will leave her with the only happy ending. The majority of the fairy tale characters are transported to the town of Storybrooke, Maine, where they have been stripped of their original memories and identities as fairy tale characters. When Emma Swan, the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, turns 28, she is brought to Storybrooke in a hope to break the curse.

The second season was confirmed by ABC on May 10, 2012,[6] premiering on September 30, 2012.[7] Despite Emma's breaking the curse, which returns the characters' original memories, they are not returned to the fairy tale world. With the introduction of magic by Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold into Storybrooke, the fates of the two worlds become intertwined, and new threats emerge.

The third season was announced on May 10, 2013,[5] premiering on September 29, 2013. The plot revolves around the main characters traveling to Neverland from Storybrooke to rescue Henry Mills who is wanted by Peter Pan as part of a plan to obtain the "Heart of the Truest Believer" from him.

The series will feature crossover episodes connecting with the show's spin-off Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.[8] The season will be split into two volumes, with the first eleven episodes running from September to December 2013, and the latter half from March to May 2014.

So go watch it on channel 5 . Every tuesday 1030pm.

Hope channel 5 bring the third season and the spin off too.

Thousands of Facebook users have changed their profile pictures because of the riddle .

Failure to solve a riddle being shared on Facebook is prompting thousands to change their profile pictures to an image of a giraffe.

The riddle – which has nothing to do with the African mammal , is said to be easy to solve, but is tripping many users up as it spreads around the social network.

The question asked in the challenge is: ‘It’s 3am, the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors! It’s your parents and they are here for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?’

Facebook users who have failed the challenge must change their profile pictures on the site to a photo of a giraffe and re-post the riddle, asking friends to message them with the answer.

The challenge is spreading quickly. If they also incorrectly guess the solution, they must change their profile picture and post the riddle for their friends to guess, thus spreading the game further around Facebook.However, it is irritating but funny at the same time.

In memory: Escape Theme Park

Escape theme park was the first theme park in singapore that has all the rides in one area with only 1 ticket and you can enjoy all the rides. Usually it funfair which a moving theme park held at open spaces. It open in year 2000.

Escape to 'hell'oween was held here since 2003 before it move to D'marque since 2012.

It was the place to let loose and enjoy. Can be enjoy by friends and family.

It was always crowded in weekend. But as years goes by it drop in attendance as in 2004 wild wild wet water park open adjacent to escape.

Escape entrance was cheap. Around $20-30 compare to universal studios $65-80.

I went only a few times as I wasn't that willing to spend money there.

In the park use to be fastfood restaurant, gift shops and arcade games.

In the 11 years it open, more rides are added. Like Rainbow which one of those extreme rides out there. But out of sudden it was removed due to mechanical problem and lots of problem. The indoor coaster Alpha 8 has a worst fate. It close just 2 years of operating. Suppose to be a main attraction but it closed after a malfunction and accidents. It seem singapore has bad luck with roller coaster. Battlestar at universal studios is closed dont know till when.

The flume ride was the next best ride. It never fail to make you wet. Even with a poncho.

Escape become worst after universal studios open. I never blame resort world but escape has bad management. As it never survive longer then 12 years. Another is Fantasy Island at Sentosa. Closed after about 6 years it open.

Since 2010 escape only operate on weekend before it closed down totally in 2011.

The area now are been rebuilt into another mall or something last i saw. Not sure but let wait and see then.

The first hunted attraction. Not sure why it call Hunted II. Some people say cause it the 2nd version. Maybe i guess. But it not scary and was too short. No scareactors just some animatronic.
But was consider grant. It remind me of ghost train ride at funfair in the 90s.

This is the Apha 8 indoor roller cooster ride area. It was closed after the accident. It was great due to singapore only have those funfair type ride!

A post on Avalon's official Facebook page today said. The post read: "It has been a wonderful two years of partying, dancing, late nights and early mornings. Halloween Attraction (this not a guide)

Do take note; THIS IS NOT A GUIDE

Been wanting to do a post on Halloween attraction but i keep stuck on what should i write about.

This not mean to be a guide or any particular event or attraction.

Just a thought on the attraction that are famous in the world during halloween.

Every year whenever i go to a halloween attraction. I wish i got a chance to work on one. Mean design, create, excute and lastly see people get scared.

Maybe one day my dream job will come through.

This year alone in sentosa there like 4 events and that does not count those mini events by club and for family.

It take atleast 6 months to a year to organise a event that only on for less then 30 days most of the time. I heard universal studios design team take 1 year right after the last event ended. That is amazing consider the events are like happening only in october the next year.

For some i heard and been told are done by students who are graduating and it thier final year project. Maybe they can work in the attraction and do more the coming years.

For me after going to this attraction since 2008. Yesh i was a bit late in going but i wanted to go but no one to go with and mostly it too expensive.

But since 2008 i been going to different event each year. Yes never go to same event though i go to the same just not every year. Sad right but what to do. Those I ask rather go if free or they just hate halloween.

But since last i say ok i go my own. I not easily spook and i kinda like horror so i know i survive!

Enough of that. My main purpose of this post are about building and creating my own attraction.

Here how my ideas goes..
Example if i given a space as big as a exhibition hall like Suntec City hall. Big enough for 3 or more hunted attraction.

*all ideas belong to me. Do ask or inform me if you interested in my ideas and maybe you can help me make it real.

Hunted house 1.
Since singaporean like shopping. The amount of shopping centre are crazy. Why not do a eery shopping mall.

The main entrance is a abandon mall. It was a trieving mall but become abandon after business gone burst cause it build on hunted land.

Once you enter there a few shops. But you need go through it like a department store but it block by ruin funitures and clothes.

Scare actors will be station at different areas of the department store. Like crazy salesgirl. Murdered shoppers, funny little girls etc..

It can be develope more as it has lot of pontential in developing the ideas.

Hunted house 2
Maybe can do a asian type. Like a old kampung burn down due to arsonist.

The spirit still around the kampung and are hunting the ruin kampung.

Hunted house 3
Can be like a asylum. Mental prison that is suppose to be close down but it never did as the occupant never really die or did they still alive? Hmmm it spooky enough just think about it as a prison is enough to scare you.

Hunted house 4
Maybe can based on some local horror movies like the maid or pulau hantu.

The story can be like a maid commit sucide and never leave the house. It hunting the owner house till the owner leave and left it abandon and here come people trying to check it out and never come out alive.

I have more ideas. Thousand of it actually. But it sad that the only thing i can do is building miniture version. But it doesnt even compare to a real thing as many cant be down miniture.

Hope maybe universal studio or sentosa or new organiser saw this.

I willing to work low pay as long i get my dream job.

Halloween

Since 31st Oct is halloween it just 3 days away.
I decide to write a post on how i feel about halloween.

Every year on 31st oct, in the US and europe Halloween are celebrated. It a holiday in the US and some european countries. Here in Singapore it a another day. Same like valentine day and other america holidays.

A few may argue that in singapore we dont celebrate but why not just enjoy the atmosphere since it is everywhere. Like we enjoy chinese new year, hari raya, deepavali and even christmas.

Past few years, halloween attraction has sprung up in sunny singapore. Though it may not be as big as in US or europe still it one of those attraction you will love to go even it expensive.

Each year since early 2000, halloween attraction are seen around tourist attraction. Like at Sentosa( Spooktacular, USS Halloween Horror nights, Images of Singapore), night safari(defunt in 2010), singapore flyer( no event in 2013), downtown east at pasir ris (escape to 'hell'oween, family event), clubs all over and recently community clubs.

It a money making event i may admit. Tickets can be as low as $2-5 to as high as $100 or more.

Those who like to say why pay to scare ourself. It actually more of to show ourself that though scary we archive something we think we never will do in a million years.

It also when we get to be silly and dress up as ghouls and sexy costume which seem to be out of place if not wore in the bedroom.

As you read my previous post i went to a few halloween attractions. Some are good while some are a let down. But overall enjoyable.

You live once why not try. Yes dont say excuses that it a waste of money but you spend on silly item doesnt it waste of money.

I will end it here but on my next post i share stories on hunted attraction and why it so popular even not at halloween events.

Review : Carrie (2013 version)

I not going say much about the contents of this movie. As it a remake. It basically similiar to the original and it novel it based on.

Just a few changes in the way the mum is kill. And few others scene.

Basically i find it slightly better. But if you like me who dont like long story build up best avoid this movie or get the dvd when it out so can skip the boring part.

Anyway i give it
Story: 3/5
Climax : 4/5
Build up : 2/5

Overall i give 2.5/5.

Do watch it if you are a fan!

Downtown East : Escape to 'Hell' oween

This the tenth year Downtown east organise a halloween event. As this is a family event the spooky and scare factor are tone down that it hardly scary.

But still those who scare of the unknown it is scary to them. Past 8 years they held it at Escape theme park. But after the theme park closed down due to so many factors. I will post about it soon.

This year theme is Army. Those gone through ns will know that the camps no matter where tekong, chua chu kang or jalan bahar all are scary as all are near cemetery.

It a nice concept just they fail in doing the maze.

To enter the maze is scary. It dark alley where you wait for your turn to enter. I knock into a wall thinking it a door. -.-"

But once you enter the area brighten. Then once I enter I realise the alleyway are huge. Can fit like 4-5 people in a row. Kinda defeat the purpose but i guess cause it for family.
It took away the surprise and the only good park is the exit!

Halloween events are know for thier maze. You fail your whole event fail.

Then reach the stage. There mini events like fortune telling, face painting and free photo taking. After all a family events.

Then came dance performance. What you dance to kpop song!!!! Should be thriller or this is halloween.

Then got a skit. okie not bad but need better props. But there no camp near changi prison. Duh i use to work there. Comando camp not near prison leh..

I didnt stay till end. But at 9pm got free gift. I rather go home.

Public $18

Only 2 days. Today and tommorow. If you want bring your kids under 13. This is the event but still scary if they have a weak heart

Lucky it only $18. If like flyer last year which is $30plus.. It will be disappointment.

Hunted maze
Scare factor: 1/5
Queue time : 15-20mins but after 8pm no queue.
Fast pass/express : none as there only 1.

If NTUC and Downtown east. Can hired me do a better one next year!
Yes i can do the best maze with low budget!!

Tiger Street Football

Last Saturday I decided to go Garden by the bay for a run. Guess what i cant find lockers -.-"

End up I went pasir ris beach instead.

Before I go garden by the bay, I decide to go check out marina bay sands open plaza. I heard they having a street football competitions.

It a cage football. Like street soccer. It actually name street football in asia. Only american use soccer duh!

It sponsor by Tiger beer that why it name Tiger Street Football. The attire are by Puma. So does the ball which i find not as good as nike or adidas ball.

It also broadcast live on Fox Sports Asia. At 5pm for the semis and the finals.

I didnt stay long as I going to the garden for a run.

Actually after walking for 1hr i found a locker but it near the conservatary as it so near i decide not to used it as i look weird if i wear my shorts tights among all the tourist.

So i try to look for another but i cant find it -.-" it actually located near the big trees...argh.

Okie lah maybe i try go again this few days.

In living memory : Tong Seng Coffeeshop

It closing tommorow. Sad that it the last day it open. It one of those you can find cheap and nice HALAL chinese food. Haiz i feel sad it closing.

As a thanks it giving away a free meal to anyone who turn up tommorow.

It has lots of memories for me. Eating there with my ex.., my friends and even alone when i was shopping or near there.

Once it closed. Seem like a part of history gone.

USS- Halloween Horror Night 3

Every year since 2011, universal studio singapore has held it Halloween Horror Night.

This year is the third time it will be held. This year theme is the three sister. Last year was puppet master and first year was the director(i miss it since i plan to go the one at night safari but was cancel and end up go a budget and BORING singapore flyer!) So dont go flyer!

Since 2011, it always attract lots of crowd. This year though it was the first day I went. It still crowded.

All three hunted house queue go up to 30-90mins wait. Even express pass is around 5-10mins.

When hunted house too crowded end up the scared wasn't there.

This year there three hunted house. Same as previous years. But the houses are indoor instead of outdoor. So no closure even if rain. Unlike last year which rain and one of the houses was closed.

Tickets prices for this year is more expensive then previous years. Admission is $68. Express pass was $50 but it was $70 as yesterday.

I guess this due to more rides open. As usual only few rides open. Such as Revenge of the mummy, madagarscar and Transformer. But jurassic park is closed due to they using the indoor queue for the hunted house.

It all about vampires and even got warewolfs. It like you enter 18-19th century england. Full of castle and darkness. Something like castlevania. It like all the dark arts come together to gather for a convention. Some are just bizarre and the scareactors will follow you even you try to move away.

Forbidden Forest (Jurassic Park forest area)
It mostly about malay ghost like Pontianak, Pocong and orang minyak. Even got malay wizard called dukun. It kinda look so real it scary as some know these exist in singapore. No matter what you still need pass this to enter possesion.

At the main entrance, near the junction to turn left or right you can take photos with the three witches. They are always waiting for you! Do note it not free and you need pay for the pictures.

My experience going on 11/10/2013. Crowded as usual. Queue to hunted houses take a long time.

My Suggestion
1) Come at 6pm to queue at front gate. Once it open dash to the front. They only open the attraction once the opening which the three sisters will appear. It has illusion trick which they appear and disappear.

2) Bring some type of games(mobile type with full batt) to play or do. For the wait in queue.

3) Drink plenty if water. Yes it can get hot and people may get hot. Do know some area in the hunted house are mean to be warm. And can be abit wet too.

4) Wear comfortable. I suggest tshirt, shorts and sneakers. For ladies it best not to wear heels or dress or tight skirts. It can cause you to worry about yourself expose and less enjoy. I see a few wear skater dress which is recommended then tight or long dress. The floor are uneven and also has stairs. So wearing heels may injured yourself.

5) Bring lots of cash. Item are ex and so does the express pass if you really need one.

NS for women?

Yesterday there news release about a survey done that women willing to join or serve ns.
I kinda half agree the article really show the truth on singapore women. Look kinda amazing that it show they willing to serve. But does it show majority of the women?

But it seem that they willing but if there are changes.
I may agree changes need to be made. Even now women doesnt need to serve, lots of changes need to be done.

Then there is blogger by the name of Alvinology. He saying about how our NS need to change. Alot disagree but me i agree with him. Reservice cause people loose jobs. Have to cut hair or even stay away from family for 2-3 weeks just to serve the country.. But yes we should protect the country but not all like military or uniform jobs.

It been ages since i visit a museum. Since now all museum that under the gov are free entry to locals. Only need to pay if traveling exhibit.

Resort World ticketing problem

This is the first time i encounter problem buying tickets online from the website.

It never happen to me. I bought a few times from the website and never encounter any problem.

Actually i wasnt piss off but was angry after they told no purchase was made. Who not angry right. I google and saw not much has encounter the problem. Or only one or two. I feel so unlucky.

But i not angry as i know sure once in awhile this can happen. I try find ways to try if can reprint. As when on the website i press print it say error. And no email received. So i lucky to print screen and got the confirmation no.
But when i decide to sent them a email. This what i get in reply

Ask me repurchase. Lucky i calm myself and reply my details. End up i already paid. Just system got problem.

They apology but it kinda the first email reply was the one make me piss off.

In the end the email arrived at 3pm.
24hrs after purchase. Lucky i not going today. If not rush to print.

It put me off to purchase online. But i need get the express pass. Haiz.

Anyone has same experience before?

Haw Par Villa - Tiger Balm Garden

Past few days i been wanting to go and see how the old theme park has become. After the dragon was removed and also any new updates or maybe renovate.

When I reach there, It was so sad to see it state. Though there minor touch up but mostly it look run down. It used to be grand back in early 90s. If the brothers who build it saw they will so sad to see it become this way!

Good thing is it has it own MRT station. It right beside. Even that nobody go visit. Station almost empty execpt those who working nearby going work or home.

My motif to visit the Ten Courts of hell. It was used to be in the big dragon. They have removed the dragon and the boat ride. Only left is the courts which use to be just on it own before Singapore tourism board decide to build it to attract visitor. It does work but for a few years...

The pictures are at random. It scary though it in the day. So do visit with friends and not alone.

This was used to be a plume ride. But was closed. What left was just trees and a abanfon building.

The outdoor portion. Mostly all are outdoors except the Ten courts if hell. A few ponds and even have fish and turtles.

Though look old but mostly are kept clean except for leaves and tree branch.
Just that a few area seem really need major renovation

Hope that after saw my pics. Many of you would like to go for a visit. It free!! So why not go! Used to be around $15 per person and $5 carpark. Now so easy it beside a mrt station.

Go visit before it gone one day!
Do not it open 9am-6pm.
If open at night for halloween will be great! So scary I think you cant slp at night -.-"

Garden by the bay underpass lift

I not sure how to start this but if you go to garden by the bay before and took the underpass that exit from circle line.
You sure will walk pass this lift.

It from basement to ground level. You will ask me why I talking about this lift.

It because it full of rubbish. Yesh rubbish.

The pics below will show it all. Was shocking to see. Why not put a bin beside the lift. It sad to see the state the lift is.

Hope the authority do something. And can GARDEN BY THE BAY make the lifts cooler. It like sauna in there. Outside is hot and inside more hot -.-'
