Band: The Dirt Radicals

I remember it was baybeats 2006. The first baybeats i saw them. I actually attended baybeats since 2005 but in 2011 i miss it due to stupid works.

Back to them. Back then they are known as Pug Jelly. A weird name right. I wonder how they get it. In a article they say was from a drink call pig jelly or something like that. Then another article i saw was said it from a lubricant name. What ever the name is it stuck and easy to say.

The bands are made up of australian Sam, Matt, Adam and japanese Mas. They release one ep. The song Give or Take was on 987fm charts. Rare that a unknown band started in singapore get on the charts. They release a full lenght album after Adam left. Not sure why. After a while they decide to recruit another member and re release the album. But that doesnt last.

They go into hiatus for awhile. Then they regroup and form Saw Loser. The group member come and go except for Sam and Mas. Matt join back after they re release thier first(2nd for the trio) album. They release a ep and a album. The album has 3 different releases. The main release. The re release when matt rejoin and a japanese version. The japanese version has one additional song included.(end up i have to buy online).

They were suppose to release another album. Something about Pop goes punk. It was release in japan but end up not release here. Been looking but i cant find. Hope i can get it to complete my collection.

They went another hiatus. Mas has his own bands Nothing to declare. Matt continue studying. Sam goes solo and known as lucky valentine. His release a album but i cant find. Nothing to declare release a ep but it seem to be hard to buy too.

In 2011, they regroup and become the dirt radicals. They release a album. After a few tours here and there. The album has good sales. They have 2 hits. They manage to release music video which was air.

They went quiet for a while. Thinking they has gone again but they were producing a second album. They record and has already completed it but as all know it hard to find music company to distribute it. After so much failure they manage to release it this july 2013.

A lot of you may ask me why i follow them from start till now. Answer is simple. They are friendly enough to knowledge you. They are those bands who last long with same members though others member come and go. Even my bandmates never stick. I manage a ep but sales were bad. Recording was bad. Regreted bad then. So that why i listen to them. I like a few others local bands too like summers over, a vacant affair and many others.

I actually wish i can open a shop cum cafe for local bands but i know it will closed even before i earn money. It obvious i cant do business. But i still can dream right. Anyway go buy the album. Support them. It only SGD16.90 at HMV or you can search the dirt radicals on fb and like that for info.

All info are through my knowledge and those article i read. If any dicrepancies please email me at piggyaiai@gmail.com

Here are my cd collections of them. I got thier autograph too.
