News: Man arrested for murder at MRT station
Man arrested for murder at MRT station

Police arrested a 55-year-old man on Wednesday evening, in connection with the death of a woman at Jurong East MRT station.
The 62-year-old woman was found earlier about 2.35pm with stab wounds and taken to the National University Hospital, where she died later from her injuries.
Both work as cleaners at the station.
It is not clear if the murder weapon was found at the scene.

97.4% PSLE passes, top student from Rulang Primary

Two Indian pupils came in number one and two in the nation for this year's Primary School Leaving Examination.
Yasmin Ziqin Mohamed Yousoof from Rulang Primary came in top in the nation with 283 points, one point ahead of Muzammil Arif Din Abdul Jabbar from Anglo-Chinese School (Primary).
Overall, the results for this year's PSLE cohort were similar to those of last year's batch.
Of the 45, 261 Primary 6 pupils who took the exam this year, 97.4 per cent or 44,106 pupils did well enough to move on to secondary school.
SINGAPORE - The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results were released today, and 97 per cent of students who sat the exam passed and qualify to move on to secondary schools.
The cohort's top student was Yazmin Ziqin Mohamed Yousoof from Rulang Primary School, with a score of 283.
She is also the top Indian pupil.
The top Chinese student is Hannah Tan Jia Hwee from Raffles Girls' Primary School, while the top Malay pupil is Natalia Nadila Muhamad from St Hilda's Primary School and the top Eurasian pupil is Bjorn Kaijun Betzler from Anglo-Chinese School.
The Ministry of Education said that of the 45,261 who sat the PSLE this year, 62.9 per cent have made it to the Express course.
Another 23.1 per cent will head for the Normal (Academic) stream while 11.4 per cent are moving on to the Normal (Technical) course.
MOE said 1,555 pupils did not pass the PSLE and will go for vocational training.
Parents can submit secondary school options for their child at the primary schools.

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia's exertions in their SEA Games gold-medal winning campaign took its toll on Ong Kim Swee's side as the Young Tigers went down 2-0 at home to Syria in their Group C clash in the third round of AFC Asian qualifiers for the 2012 London Olympics on Wednesday.
Malaysia were on a high after defeating hosts Indonesia on penalties to retain their SEA Games title on Monday but spot-kick hero Khairul Fahmi, one of 13 players in the squad at the regional multi-sport event, was beaten seven minutes into the second-half as Solaiman Solaiman gave Syria the lead.
The Kelantan keeper was picking the ball out the back of the Malaysian net for a second time with two minutes left to play when substitute Nassouh Nakkdahli, an 81st minute replacement for Mardek Mardkian, sealed the 2-0 win.
Wednesday's win at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium was Syria's second of the third round of qualifiers to keep level with Japan, who maintained their 100% record with a 2-0 victory over Bahrain in Manama on Tuesday.
